Education Society. It is situated in the western side of Purulia town. Started as a primary school in 1994 in fulfilment of dreams of Fr. Edward De Meulder S.J. it was affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations in 2001.
St. Xavier’s School is founded in 1994. It’s a co-educational English medium school. It has obtained permanent No Objection Certificate (N.O.C) from the West Bengal Government for preparing candidates for the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education Examinations. The school is now permanently affiliated to the Council in May 2006 and is upgraded to the level of Std. XI and XII.
St. Xavier’s School is a Catholic School, established and administered by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Jamshedpur. While the responsibility for the day today running of the school rests on the Principal, it has the Managing Committee to help and guide the administration in the welfare and development of the school.
St Xavier’s School is open to all; irrespective of religious, linguistic cultural and social affiliations. As a Catholic Minority School, it draws inspiration & guidance from the life & teachings of Jesus Christ. Hence due importance is given to the faith formation of Catholics, while Moral Science / Value Education is made compulsory for the non-catholic students for the development of spiritual & moral values.
